Teaching the Network to Sense: AI-Native ISAC Services for Open 6G RAN

In 6G, the radio access network will not only carry data but also sense its surroundings, locating users and objects. This thesis explores Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) as a new class of O-RAN services, where AI-RAN techniques run as xApps and dApps to add sensing functionality to the network.

Over six months, the student will work hands-on with software-defined radios and O-RAN-compliant 5G/6G testbeds at ANTlab. The work covers designing, deploying and experimentally validating AI-driven sensing services on real hardware.
